Membership Meeting
August 31, 2010
Faculty/Officers present:
Dr. Andrew Pieper, Club Advisor
Meghan Ellison, President
Michelle Mack, Vice President
Deborah Lynn, Secretary

• Ellison opened the meeting by welcoming the new members and presenting the website and various contact information.
• Ellison suggested, and the attendees agreed that we should man a table in lobby of the Social Science building on September 13, 2010 to rally additional members for the September 14, 2010 meeting. Lynn will create a tri-fold flyer about the club to distribute.
• Ellison solicited ideas for a t-shirt design and asked the members to think of potential guest speakers for future meeting.
• Dr. Pieper suggested that in additional to politicians, we consider inviting attorneys, CNN anchors, representatives from the Carter Center, or anyone who could shed light on the academic side of political science. Dr. Pieper noted that any guest speakers should not include activists.
• Dr. Pieper discussed an election party in November, debates and activities with other clubs.
• Dr. Pieper suggested that we get forms for voter registration during the membership rally on the 13th.
• Ellison announced that the Club Treasurer position is open. Election will be at the next meeting on September 14th between Chris Belleu and Dorothy Paul, who will send out an email stating the reasons why they are the best choice for Treasurer.
• Refreshments were served and the meeting adjourned at 1:25 p.m.
